If I Could Arrange A Bloggers Retreat

This is a variation on the if we were to have coffee type of posts I have read. I have to admit that I have an active, sometimes overactive, imagination and daydream about possible fun things.

One such daydream is winning millions of dollars and then paying for a vacation or retreat for bloggers, so we can meet, exchange ideas, and have fun.

The problem is deciding on where. I think a mountain ski resort in winter would be fun- even though I can’t ski

but I also think a place like Fiji would be fun as long as I don’t have to wear a swimsuit on the beach but instead swim trunks and a t-shirt.

Who to invite would be the bloggers their family members, boyfriends or girlfriends, wives or husband etc.

Narrowing down the list would be hard because I enjoy so many blogs, but here is a possible list for a first one along with why I would invite them. One theme of course is for various cultures to come together.

BeautyBeyondBones is a blog that has helped me understand eating disorders and I admire how she overcame through her faith in Jesus. I think she would be fun to have around too. She could bring her parents but maybe she wouldn’t in hopes of meeting a nice young man who loves Jesus but her parents could do screening interviews. Okay so I would also have an ulterior motive. She posts a lot of recipes that look delicious, but I am a terrible cook, so I would designate her our retreat chef. πŸ™‚ Her blog isΒ beautybeyondbones.com

FracturedFaithBlog is a blog I enjoy reading. I appreciate his stories and his sarcasm at times. His posts are fun to read and I think he would add a lot to conversation as we either sit around the fire in a mountain lodge or on the beach. Being from Ireland would give us a fun addition to our cultural experience. His blog is fracturedfaithblog.com

Dr. Perry from MakeItUltra would be good to have join us. He can keep us motivated and maybe help us discover more about ourselves. I think I would designate him as MC for our retreat. His blog is makeitultrapsychology.wordpress.com

Maggie at dreamingofguatemala would be fun to have join us to keep us young. She would have to bring her parents with her and maybe her siblings but the siblings would be up to her. Parents non-negotiable because they would need to watch over their daughter. πŸ™‚Β  I enjoy reading posts from young people growing in their faith. It keeps me fresh in my almost old age. Her blog is at dreamingofguatemala.com

Mia from calledtobeawriter would be fun to have join in. She has an inspiring story to share about how her faith helped her overcome adversity. A woman from New Zealand living in the Southern U.S. has to be fascinating to have around. Her blog is at calledtobeawriter.com

Beverly at becomingtheoilandwine would be great to have join. She is from Jamaica originally and now in the British Virgin Islands. She would add a unique perspective of overcoming through faith and education. She could come with her husband and kids. She shares her faith in her blog at becomingtheoilandwine.com

Steven at PerfectChaos would be fun to have join us. I enjoy philosophical discussions and also theological discussions. Being from the UK would add a fun perspective, but maybe we shouldn’t ask too many questions about Brexit. πŸ™‚ His blog is at perfectchaos.org

Ula at simpleula would be interesting to have join us. She is from Poland originally but now lives in Canada. She has fun posts to read and would have an interesting perspective. She could come with her husband. You can see her blog at simpleula.com

Speaking of Canada a young woman has a blog that I follow The Voice of Peace. She has overcome a lot through her faith. She inspires me. She could also teach us a little French. Her blog is at thevoiceofpeace18.wordpress.com

Don at The Life Project would be fun. He is doing a series about starting a colony on Mars. He is also a pastor. So we could have a whole session planning a colony on Mars. His blog is at lifereference.wordpress.com

Lily at Retrospective Lily would be awesome to have with us. She is into literature and classic Christian literature. She is also into movies, but I would want to ask if she thinks Lord of the Rings is the best ever. πŸ™‚ Also we would all be motivated to get some exercise in because she does and she is in a wheelchair so we would have no excuse not even an old guy like me. πŸ™‚ I just started following her blog and enjoy it. Her blog is at retrospectivelily.com

Amy at A New Life would be fun to have join us. She shares about overcoming addiction through her faith. She could come with her family.Β  Her blog is at anewlife256599767.wordpress.com

Junaisha at Godly Chic Diaries would be fun to have join us. She is a young woman, a law student, and a woman who wants to live for Jesus. She is from South Africa, so she would be an interesting addition both faith wise and culturally. Her blog is at gcdiaries.wordpress.com

So that would be 14 including me. My role would be to sit back, absorb, and enjoy listening to all of them. Of course this would all depend on me winning millions of dollars. πŸ™‚

If you ever see me post about becoming rich all of the sudden, you can remind me of this postΒ  πŸ™‚ haha.

There are other blogs I follow and enjoy that I will include in a future if I could arrange a bloggers retreat, so if yours is not in this one, it probably will be in the future.

What do you think of my retreat? Would you want it on a tropical island or a mountain ski resort in winter?

  1. Oh, what a great line-up of blogs! I can’t wait to visit those I am not familiar with! Loved this post. What a great idea–a bloggers’ retreat! I think a retreat in a ski chalet would be perfect. Lots of deep discussion around a roaring fire… drinking coffee, tea or decadent hot chocolate! Sounds like a taste of heaven to me! πŸ™‚

      1. You are so kind! But please know that I wasn’t looking for my blog to be listed! I just would really love to sit an listen to all of you amazing bloggers! God bless you, my thoughtful and kind friend!!

  2. Thanks for the mention on my blog! We’ve just spent our last day in the mountains of Tennessee and I think it would be neat to rent a huge cabin here for your retreat. Being in the mountains has inspired me so much this week! There’s so much beauty that only could come from God (not some big bang)
