Music Mondays- Mention of Your Name by Jenn Johnson

Ever feel stuck? I know I have at times. I have been dealing with autoimmune issues for a long time. Many years ago I needed help to be freed up from the effects of growing up in an alcoholic home. Serving Jesus there have been times that things seemed hopeless. I will never forget the night I thought I was going to die in July 1995 and I called out to Jesus. His presence into my room and I felt his touch on my shoulder.

Why did Jesus come? What motivated him to come and suffer for us? Jesus gave the answer which is recorded in John 10:

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life,Β and have it to the full.”

He saw us and the danger we were in, the pitfalls we can fall into in life, separated from God by our sin. Jesus came so we could have life and have it to the full. He came to set us free from the pitfall in life and provide the way for us to be forgiven and have relationship with God, But why?

Jesus shared his motivation in John 15:

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

He has the name above all names. He has all power. He loves us. He wants to free us from toxic relationships, addiction, depression, and heal our souls and spirits from the effects of trauma such as abuse,

He came to see us free. I love this song with the lyric:

“At the mention of Your Name
Every chain will break
I know everything will change”

and

“Just the whisper of your name”

There have been times that I could barely whisper his name to call out for help. Even a whisper he hears.

I love this song Mention of Your Name by Jenn Johnson. The message in the song is powerful and the music is beautiful. I want to share it with you today. I hope it blesses you like it has blessed me.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
