Break Time Is Over- Back to School

My break time is over and it is Back to School time again for second semester. It was nice while it lasted, my 17 days of break time, sleeping late, relaxing, etc. But this morning I am looking forward to seeing the moms in my morning class again.

The break wasn’t only relaxation time. I got started writing a book, spent time with friends, and enjoyed blogging.

But there is something special about the energy of a classroom for me. I feel alive when I am with my students. I can be exhausted, fatigued, but once I start teaching, I am good to go until class ends.

There is much to pray about for these precious moms. Two will be driving back from spending Christmas in Mexico this week. Three will have babies in the coming weeks. There are also the needs and issues they deal with in their daily lives that remind me of what Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 11:

“Who is weak, and I do not feel weak?”

Update on the book- I am at 11,000 words. More are in me but waiting to be put on paper. I think by the end of the weekend I will be at 20,000 words. More important than word count is character development and I am adding some new characters to Jessica’s story from the short story.

My desire is to have a percentage from any book sales go to Love Justice an organization that intercepts and rescues children and young women from traffickers.

Also today two of my citizenship class students are taking their citizenship test. I am confident they will do well. πŸ™‚

Hope you have a blessed day.

What was significant for you during the holidays?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. *sigh* I already miss break. However, it’s been awesome to see you write more than usual. Good luck on your book! 11,000 words is a great milestone. So far, mine just hit 21,000 and it feels awesome. Have a great day!

  2. That’s awesome! I’m sure the women will attain citizenship this time around. You seem like such an awesome encourager. My night ESL classes resume this week, and my children’s ESL group classes began this morning. It was a nice break not having to wake up early, but I definitely missed them!

  3. It was definitely a good long break, but I’m ready to get back to it too. Our kids are back to school today and they were excited this morning. πŸ™‚ I will be praying over those requests. God bless!

  4. *100 sighs* Yep…. I’m back into all that school and my job today. 😦 The break was too good! I thoroughly enjoyed getting more blogging time. But, I’m also glad I’m starting my last semester of highschool! I’m so ready for highschool do be done. πŸ™‚

  6. Matthew, what an encouraging update! Thank you for sharing your heart, and the prayer needs of these precious women. I pray God meets them at their point of need with His usual abundantly above way of loving on us. Also that Holy Spirit inspires the completion of your book. I love that some of the proceeds are going toward protection from trafficking. Blessings β™₯

  7. I’m back in school, too! I was ready and looking forward to seeing our students. We were out 15 days and many looked like they grew over break! Congratulations on your the progress of your book! I think it is very honorable that you are planning to donate a percentage of your proceeds to a worthy cause. I am praying for the Lord to bless your efforts!

  8. Matt, I can remember returning to my classroom after a long break. I was eager to “start up the engines” on the first morning back. No longer teaching, I still miss the relationships with students and colleagues. Perhaps, God brought me to WP to experience new challenges.

  9. This is really great big bro- @the book – you are making progress with it. I hope you are getting to the target for the week – 22….words.? πŸ™‚

And how was the outcome for the citizenship test?. Success all the way for them.
