We Need to Protect Children- My Hero Band Came

About a month ago, I shared a post that was about the reason I canceled my Netflix due to the movie Cuties exploiting 11 year old girls to make a movie. The post was- We Need to Protect The Children.

More recently I shared a post about a young woman who was a victim of child sex trafficking who has now had a wonderful work she is doing. Her work is Hero Bands. For each band sold, she donates $2 to Operation Underground Railroad an organization that rescues children who have been trafficked. A person can also donate a band to be given to a child for only $10. I donated a band and ordered one for myself.

My band came in the mail yesterday.

I chose the words Be Kind for my band to remind myself to show kindness which is so needed these days.

I have decided to donate at least one band for a child each month. I figure my Netflix subscription cost me a little more than the $10 it costs to donate a band for a child. I would much rather my money goes to a child each month than to a company that paid for a movie to be produced that exploits 11 year old girls.

It would be great if some of my followers would do the same. Take the money that would have gone to Netflix and use it to help fight child sex trafficking. You can look up organizations like Love Justice, Hero Bands, or others.

Jesus had strong words to anyone who would harm a child in Matthew 18:

“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea”

This obviously shows how much Jesus cares about children. Let’s care about children who are victims of child sex trafficking.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. It’s really sad that people exploit children. I’m proud of you for taking a stand and not supporting Netflix. Andrew and I cancelled our Netflix quite a while ago and switched to Disney, Haven’t used it enough though. Maybe we should cancel that too and look into this instead. I will take a look at it and see what Andrew says. Great post!
